Mapping Unhealthy Commodity Industries' Responses to COVID-19

In collaboration with NCD Alliance, a leading international civil society network, Prof. Jeff Collin, Dr. Sarah Hill and Dr. Rob Ralston are leading a crowdsourcing initiative to map and analyse how unhealthy commodity industries have responded to the pandemic. Using an online tool they are collating international examples of the diverse strategic responses by alcohol, fossil fuel, gambling, tobacco and ultra-processed food companies, including across corporate social responsibility and philanthropy, adapting marketing campaigns, promoting new partnerships and collaborations, and influencing policy responses. This collaboration is linked to their work on health governance and the commercial determinants of health for the SPECTRUM consortium, and for more information about the project check this link.
